In My Past Lives
We leave many imprints behind us. This page seeks to highlight a few of mine.
In 2018, I was about to leave my job and jump off the proverbial cliff when Refuel Online reached out. In this interview, I shared exactly why I felt like I had no other choice but to leave it all behind. In May 2018, I had a long, candid conversation with Corey of Refuel Online. I remember telling him when we first spoke on the phone that I was in transition (leaving my job and jumping off the safety cliff), and I wasn’t sure I was the best candidate for an interview like this. He told me that it was precisely why we should talk - he believed that so many interviews were done after transitions and not during them. It was an intriguing perspective, so I agreed to do it.
In this interview, I shared: the real reason I was leaving my job at MusicTT; what it took to channel my well-hidden inner creative; experiences of my 16-year-old self that I had never shared up until that point; and the decisions I made that led me to become who I was by that day. Corey is an incredible human who knows how to guide a great conversation gently, and that’s really what this was: a raw, real conversation about what it means to be a creative entrepreneur, told in the most personal of ways. |
As the former General Manager of MusicTT, I lived for the fulfillment of a great vision: the exponential development of the music industry of Trinidad and Tobago. It is an imprint I will always honor within my life's journey.Speaking at the National Stakeholder Engagement for the music industry in 2017, this highlight speaks to one of the implementation projects that were rolled out under my tenure: Trinidad and Tobago's first Live Music District in the capital city of Port of Spain. While I left MusicTT just after the end of the pilot's first three months, I continue to believe that if the strategy proposed is fully resourced and executed, it can be a revolutionary addition to the local performance landscape.

Expo2023 - ArgentinaIn 2017, I represented Trinidad and Tobago at the International Meeting of Creative Industries in Digital Convergence. Countries from South and Central America as well as the Caribbean all came together to vie for Argentina to be the location of EXPO2023: a large international exhibition designed to showcase achievements of nations around the world. Argentina won the bid, making this the first time that a country within our region was chosen as the location for this international exposition which can directly stimulate their tourism sector and economy. The most recent Specialised Expo gathered 4 million visitors between 10 June and 10 September 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan, under the theme “Future Energy.”
