Jeanelle Frontin is an award-winning author. Her venture into books began with the release of the fantastical world of The YaraStar Trilogy in 2018. The first book of the trilogy, The Unmarked Girl, won the 2019 CODE Burt Award for Caribbean Young Adult Literature. It was starred and listed under Kirkus Reviews' Best 100 Indie Books of 2019, and also sits on a sub-list of the five(5) Best Indie Middle-Grade & YA Books of 2019. Jeanelle's fantasy trilogy explores the journey of Yara, an unmarked girl with unknown origins, on a planet where one's birthline markings determine those who are of light from those who are of darkness. Yara's search for meaning, purpose and a place to belong in a world filled with grey areas is a search that Jeanelle believes is a part of us all.
Jeanelle has continued writing, ultimately releasing five books in five years, with her intimate, face-it-all memoir – "And She Called It Worship" – as her maiden non-fiction offering, alongside her latest New Adult fantasy offering, "The Order of Ja'el." With new works always underway, her deeper exploration through storytelling has no end in sight. Jeanelle is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Mark Made Group Ltd., a Caribbean-based company specializing in entertainment, technology, and the arts with this sole purpose: to enable adept humans, and choice projects, to make their mark on the world. Having a wealth of knowledge and experience within the creative sector, both in a public and private capacity, Jeanelle noticed that several of the applied business models were either inadequate or outdated in a rapidly evolving world. Believing in empowering independent, entrepreneurial creatives to a new level in the present wave of change, Jeanelle seeks to apply all she has learnt across the various sectors in which she has worked in innovative ways. Her extensive experience, combined with her education [BSc (Hons) Electrical & Computer Engineering; MSc.(Dist) Engineering - Project Management], allows Jeanelle to seek and discover powerful intersections between seemingly unrelated fields for strategies, solutions, and system building. This dynamic and unique range of expertise, as well as her distinct passions, birthed the tagline: "The one thing I'm not is one thing." Jeanelle also shares a love for creating conceptual music with her husband through their singing, songwriting and production duo, Dechode Mode. Their first EP, The Triquetra of Love, was reviewed and featured in Caribbean Beat (March/ April 2022), the Caribbean Airlines inflight magazine, and all their songs are available on YouTube and across all streaming platforms. While much of her public persona exists within the creative industries, Jeanelle continues to make strides within sci-tech, completing MIT's Applied Data Science Program (AI focused) in 2023, and pursuing further studies in Engineering & AI in 2024. Many of these acquired skillsets are offered to select clients through Mark Made Group, while the rest of her pursuits remain heavily research-focused. Jeanelle currently lives in the Caribbean country of Trinidad & Tobago, where she was born in love and raised with strength. She believes that every human being on the planet should experience her home islands. Honoured to be the wife, creative and business partner of Kevin Licorish and mother of Alyxander (the Great), she dedicates her work to them.
